Established in 1842 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, by Gustav Faberge, the House of Fabergé was a renowned jewelry firm. This distinguished house became synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship and artistic elegance. Over time there were a number of family members breaking out on their own, and starting new lines of similar businesses. Some outsiders also purchased lines of Fabergé. Eventually, altogether new lines of businesses were linked to the Fabergé name.

Cut to 1951, Samuel Rubin acquired the rights to the Fabergé brand name for perfume marketing. Subsequently, in 1964, Rubin sold his company, Fabergé Inc., to the cosmetics firm Rayette Inc., prompting a name change to Rayette-Fabergé Inc. Over the years, as the brand underwent multiple ownership changes, companies utilizing the Fabergé name expanded their offerings to include clothing lines, the highly successful cologne Brut, the perfume Babe, hair products, and even ventured into film production. Through subsequent ownership transitions, jewelry was eventually reintroduced into the diverse product lines associated with the Fabergé brand.
